BIO-STREAMS

BIO-STREAMS is a 4-year Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Action designed to address the growing epidemic of underage obesity in the European Union. As observed over the past few decades, overweight & obesity rates have reached epidemic proportions across the EU. Prevalence in childhood is particularly alarming, resulting in psychological impacts & increased risks for Non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Bringing together 30 partners from 15 countries across the European Union, BIO-STREAMS combines data-driven research, prevention measures and community participation to provide a holistic approach in reducing obesity rates among children and adolescents.

Martel participates in BIO-STREAMS by leading and implementing the communication, dissemination and community building activities.
