“leADS” marks Martel Innovate’s involvement in the Digital Europe Programme

Martel’s involvement in the Digital Europe Programme

On 5 October 2022, Martel Innovate engaged in a virtual kick-off meeting of the Digital Europe Programme Coordination and Support Action (CSA), leADS. This CSA will provide insights into the changing Advanced Digital Skills (ADS) demands, filling up the skill gaps within employment and engagements in society.

Martel Innovate and the partners involved in leADS intend to shape the future of the European Advanced Digital Skills talents and support the effective implementation of knowledge, guidance, and best practices within a dynamic technological development context and current digital transformation.

Christine Simon, Policy Officer at European Commission, gave an introduction to the leADS initiative and elaborated on the main objectives of the project. “Digital competencies and skills have become essential to participate in society, take advantage of digital public services, and remain competitive in the labour market. By 2030, 80% of European citizens should possess at least a basic level of digital skills”, mentioned Christine.

leADS is expected to help Europeans to advance their digital skills and knowledge, further their careers and add value to their organisations by exploring the 4 cardinal points of the Digital Decade Policy Programme: digital skills, digital transformation of businesses, secure and sustainable digital infrastructures and digitalisation of public services.

leADS will work with certification bodies and professional bodies to map the supply of courses and programmes across Europe to identify the relevant gaps and activate existing robust networks of universities and training providers to translate those gaps into guidelines for specific contexts which address barriers and challenges.

Dr Monique Calisti, CEO of Martel Innovate, said, “Martel Innovate is delighted to be involved for the first time in the Digital Europe Programme. With more than 25 years of experience empowering and building on foundations in managing European Commission-funded projects, Martel Innovate’s diversified research and development activities are fit to support the Digital Europe Programme in several advanced domains. As Martel Innovate’s core value is “Making Innovation Happen”, Digital Skills are an important element to ensure that the future of automation and robotics brings in new ways of working through effective skills, making innovation happen in Europe”.

Martel Innovate will participate in leADS by leading and implementing a broad range of communication, dissemination and community-building activities.
